The Role of Emotional Labor in Strong Friends

Strong friends tend to do a lot of emotional labor. In our society this is actually a form of work that tends to be highly invisible. It's often feminized sometimes racialized if there's an interracial dynamic. So it's the literal putting of emotions of your emotions beneath the emotions of other people. We need more of that in our relationships.
