The Importance of Education in an Economy

A more educated population can work in higher skilled industries, perform more value adding roles in the economy and create more output overall. But there are certainly skeptics and there are some genuine arguments to be made against perhaps over educating our economies or putting too much of an emphasis on education. The bad part may be related to what we could call educational mismatch. So it's not necessary that individuals are over-educated, individuals take on average a good decision on the length of an education.
