Out of the Silent Planet

Out of the silent planet is published in 1938. It's one of his first books that we know. He publishes allegory of love in 36, but he had been working on that in his 20s and that's a scholarly book. This is his first foray into fiction. The Hobbit comes out the year before. So it's one of those. It anticipates kind of the rise of the war. You can kind of get some of those themes. And so it's a really important key work.
