Saturday Night Fever
The movie strips all of like the blackness and queerness out of the disco scene. They go so far out of their way in that movie to make sure you know that John Travolta is not gay. There's a scene where him and his friends beat up a gay couple or at least harass a gay couple. It manages to be offensive toward gay people, bisexuals and David Bowie all at the same time. The image that people got from Saturday Night Fever was that discos were white and straight. A safe place for homophobes is what a disco tech is really.
