Performance Fees - Why You Shouldn't Get a Performance Fee
If you don't outperform, you shouldn't get a fee. A lot of funds would die if that was their fee structure,. because a lot of them don't outperforming. The real problem is the way these things are incentivized. It's easier to bring in more inflows than it is to grow the pot through performance. You can force people not to deviate from the benchmark by more than a certain percentage.
