The audience, with something at stake, has more to teach us than we do teach them. And certainly the audience has more of value to contribute to an exchange than the artists do. When you approach an audience with reverence for what they might know and what they might be able to contribution to an exchange, new things open up and new possibility. I think this is based on the basic principles of greek tragedy, which took place in an amphitheatre. The word theatre in greek means the place where we see in both directions,. Where i see you and you see me, and we see each other reflected in the stories that are being performed.
