The Unforgiving Robot Sammy
Sammy's mother invited me out of the blue to meet her and her husband for lunch while they were briefly in Olympia. I accepted immediately without follow-up questions, assuming they had realized that the one conversation between Sammy and I had been a disaster. The Camelot burger in was a seedy dark bar lit red through most of the gloomy interior. They walked a delicate line sitting there in our dim back booth, sharing stuff about Sammy while not betraying their confidence she had with them or with her new doctor.
