The Moving Parts of a Drawing or Painting
A drawing is comprised of shades of gray or values. We have a language for creating those shades of gray. And then we have the other moving part, which is edges. You have sharp edges and you have gradients. Each one of these things has their place. An absence of light is different than a presence of light. Understanding that when you look at that figure that you don't see the figure, you see a stream of information.
