As a parent and as a partner, you need to be conscious of when your niceness is being deployed to bridge a culture gap that isn't your responsibility for bridging. Because in doing that, you're taking emotional energy away from what you need to take care of inside the four walls of your house. And so like I'm I'm mad on principle, right? But I'm not actually being like threatened or diminished in any way.
