The world is in the midst of a bio diversity crisis, with species going extinct at an alarming rate. And i'm sure that a great many of those species are superimportant to eco systems and could be ben a to humanity as well. But this report from ipbes also points out that there are some species that we seem to be using in a sustainable way. Maybe we can focus on how that is being achieved in order to stop this sort of over exploitation of cies.

The evolution of ‘warm bloodedness’ allowed mammals to live in a more diverse range of habitats, but working out when this occurred has been difficult. To try and pin down a date, researchers have studied the fossilised remains of ancient mammals' inner ears, which suggest that this key evolutionary leap appeared around 230 million years ago.
