The Competitive Marketplace in the Economy
Consumer debt is at an all-time high, and credit card debt is also up. That means that the money banks rely on from consumers to be in their account is stretched really, really thin. Local banks are under a tremendous amount of stress today; I'm most worried about local ones. The Federal Reserve feels like it's just fine giving small banks whatever loans they might have... It feels like a long line of patches but we're not there yet.
