"I remember waking up in the middle of the night to find that my dad was at a bed and was over by the small window near the cabin's front door," she says. "We didn't care if it was too small or if it was in themiddle of nowhere. It was like a real adventure to us at that age." She recalls being shocked when her parents told her they couldn't sleep because their father had been unable to get back to sleep.
