Dr Elaine FitzCharles is Senior Laboratory Manager for the British Antarctic Survey. She explains how scientists can bring their own specialist equipment on board to use when they're here. We have 13 laboratories on this ship and we also have four additional container laboratories that are very specialist in their function - so it's a multifunctional space.
