We've found through computer logging methods that people check email on average 77 times a day. If you want to cut down stress, if you want to assess yourself as being more productive, then it's important to simply spend less time on email. Even if it's batch, people end up spending a lot of time on it. What does affect productivity and stress is email volume and the duration of time that a person spends on email.
