The idea that economic growth based on exploitation is still resonating in our time very clearly but perhaps the implications of it have changed a little bit. If you were poor by implication it wasn't really worth saving you because you were damned right? And if you were rich the very fact that you had money meant that you were one of the saved that you wereone of the virtuous.
