How to Outperform the Market
I started my hedge fund in October of 2008. It was a terrible time to start a hedge fund, but the beautiful thing about corrections is they create opportunities. My largest peak to trough in my fund is 15%. Yet compare that to the general market, it's 50%. So if your biggest loss is 15%, you don't have to make nearly as much money to get back to break even if you're down 50%. Because I highlight and make such a point of worrying about not losing money, it has saved me so much.
