Is Pacing Really Crucial?

The hour of power is so fundamental to the cycling history and psychology, that i think it should be a badge of honor to have some understanding. As an athlete gets order, what do we tend to see? They they go, they migrate to longer events. So this is one of the reasons why you can see quite good marithoners pushing a pushing forty, but you're not going to see a forty year old doing super stuff at three thousand or five thousand meters. It's in tune with how we age and what what our relative deficits become. And we lose top end power faster than we lose that extensive power.
