Resistance Training and Aerobic Training Improve Insulin Sensitivity

Resistance training typically increases insulin sensitivity. aerobic training doesn't necessarily build muscle, particularly in folks who are otherwise active or lifting weights. But it does increase the amount of muscle that you have its ability to use glucose and free fatty acids as fuel. The better your mitochondria are able to burn fat, the less risk you have a metabolic syndrome.
