As an adult I have used a variety of language learning apps including memorize and um my experience personally has been way better way more effective way more self-directed. The industry is trying to think about how to tailor the experience to individual learners so they can get some of that experience that has been lacking before in classroom teaching partly because if you have a class of 20 people you have to cater to them all at different levels.
