How to Gain Confidence and Patience in Chess

Do you feel this happening in the rest of your life? Or do you feel like this is just confined to chess. I would say in most aspects of my life, I'm pretty confident. When I'm at the chessboard, especially, you know, playing other people, my confidence tends to wane a little bit. My life sometimes informs my chess playing, and I have to take lessons from both.
