The Importance of Labels in Animal Training
I think there is sort of somewhat of the label rather than what the animal is doing. I mean, I'm thinking especially about aggression because that's what I did a lot of. We tend to get overwrought, if a dog threatens or growls or bites us or other dogs. And we need to think, well, wait a second, I'm being freaked out by something which were it otherwise derived. When you hurt yourself in the kitchen or if a child hurts himself playing a sport, you take it much more and stride. So I think the standard that we're holding dogs up to is just not, not tenable.
