The English language is textural in a built-in way, right? You don't have to create that texture yourself. So I think in that sense, it's sort of like making a game out of a deck of cards. The beauty of it is the English language is this phenomenally complicated and deep textural object that everyone knows. But it's invisible to us. It's like it's transparent to us.
