Many women talk about how the veil prevents them. Islam like any system says what you ought to do, right? Just like Stardust when she she realizes, oh, it's unsafe for women to walk home at night, maybe I should dress a certain way. She's making a proactive choice to dress and behave a certain way that would scare off people. That's what exactly Islam saying. They're saying, Oh, if you want to be taken seriously as a person and individual and not a sexual object, you should not dress pro-opically.
