In early 1068, the three sons of Harold Godwinson were in Ireland. They'd gone there to meet with King Diarmad of Dublin and prepare an invasion force for retake England. By now, it's likely that they had heard about rebels gathering under the banner of Edric the Wild near Harraford. The boys would be feeling pretty good about launching a re-invasion right about now.
