Zenemon and his troops are at a crossroads when they learn about the lay of the land. They can go south, back from where they came, back to Babylonia and media. Or they could go north through the rugged mountains, through the land of the Cardukians. A royal army of 120,000 men had once invaded them but never returned because of their ruggedness.
