Mortgage rates reflect expectation that the economy is going to remain strong forcing the Fed to keep rates high. So it's bad for homeowners in the near term but it's also a data point I mean one of several that are starting to indicate that this often predicted recession might be milder than it will be harsh and there's some scenarios in which we don't see recession at all in 2023.
