The Limitation of Art in the Modern Period

Art is a pure expression of love, or a pure pression of a sense of purpose. But it's never allowed to incorporate explicitly the idea that this is true in any way. The arts themselves wither away out of indifference because values are not scientific rationalism but just a mean of economic life. And above all other things, is living in a tautology. That's a system that doesn't subvert itself. It might collapse, but its values are self reinforcing. Its not seeking the truth, because the only truth is is the tautology of wealth. I think what i fear most,. is that religion, the arts, everything that tells us that we are spiritual beings
