Matthew Dix: I love a phone call as the beginning of a story. The 40 year old version of me is telling a story about a phone call and then school the next day. It really is a 24 hour story with a big chunk of backstory, a big A section inserted into the middle of it. He says he doesn't want to carry a story from the age of 15 to 40.
