Are Bubble Bees Playing?

The bees gravitated towards a room with the balls. Once they got there, they again seemed to start playing with these objects. So do we know that this is play that they're having fun versus something instinctual? Some experts say it reminds them of housekeeping behavior that bees do when they remove dead bees and other debris from their nest. They would like to see more evidence that this is actually play.
