The Fear of Not Having Enough
I just keep everything in index funds in the stock market. I don't do any speculation. I look at it about one hour a year. It's fear of not having enough that drives us to keep striving. That drives us to fear in both our lives. For me, it's a dislike of waste. The marginal value of money is like a quarter. If you've already got more than you're going to spend then the pursuit of more money is nil. You just kind of need to address your mental problems. They're no offense... Oh, I'm gonna crap.
