Kissinger had real experience in life that elites do not have. In 1993, I hitchhiked from Freetown Sierra Leone across the center of the country into a place called Bo. And every few miles I was hitchhiking in a truck or a car, there would be soldiers with their safeties off their assault rifles. It was also in Pakistan on the northwest frontier of Pakistan, where the government officially ruled but actually you encountered armed tribal militias.
