The Death of Tokugawa Ia Moto

Tokugawa Ia Haru was Shogun of Japan from 1779 until his death at 49. He had four children, but none of them lived to adulthood. The system needed an heir and he could not provide one. His son Oki Moto was assassinated by a disgruntled samurai in the Shogun's own palace.
