The game uses UTXOs, which is like every unspend transaction that you have in your wallet. It just works like the normal Bitcoin network, but there is no negative consequence, at least not yet. Up until three days ago, the game used bank account system where you add your wallet and you add the value somewhere. But we know Bitcoin is not like this. So recently, but it took like a major effort and rewrite of a lot of the code of the Bitcoin simulator. The goal of the game is to teach you as much as I understand the best practice of Bitcoin. And then we can think about what are the consequences if you do not have privacy or don't care
