What Happened to Acid Rain?
After World War II, you saw massive increases associated with industrialization of pollutants into the atmosphere. Clean air legislation did clean up a lot of the sulfur dioxide pollution. And so we saw a decrease in atmospheric aerosols. We saw a decrease not evenly concentrated in aerosol pollution. And most importantly, we saw a decreases in the incidence of acid rain.
