Two of the most senior executives at Malta Gaming Authority have been charged with corruption. They are accused of selling insider information to a man named Jorgen Fennek. He is also the man accused of masterminding the assassination of Daphne Carawana-Galizia. Many Northern European countries don't allow online casinos from Malta to operate in their jurisdiction, or if they do, they are heavily regulated. And because there are now so many online gambling companies, competition is much harder. Some believe that Maltese online casinos are a vital part of organised criminals money laundering operations.
