Why Are There No Teachers of Virtue?

Meno and socrates speculate that virtue would be teachable if it were a kind of knowledge. Socrates asks anitus whether he supposes there are people who can teach virtue. Anitus has nothing but scorn for the sophists, says one is better off asking any athenian citizen. The virtuous men might be the ones who have true beliefs about what to do, rather than knowledge.
