Carlo: We don't have almost nothing directly by him but there's a lot of ancient literature that talk about him. He wrote a book with a title that was very fuses about nature. An aximander is all over the ancient texts that we have, Aristotle talks a lot about an aximander. So people who studied that give us a list of things that most presumably wear in his book. And especially for the history of scientific thinking which is what I think most people who wrote about him missed because as I said lack of scientific perspective.
This week on the Penguin Podcast, Nihal is joined by writer, science populariser and theoretical, Carlo Rovelli.
He joins us to talk about the new English translation of his first book, Anaximander.
They all also discuss the singular genius of the philosophers of the past, the importance of questioning our reality, the significance of a typewriter in his writing career, and his admiration for the theoretical physicist John Wheeler.
