Is Direct Air Capture a Good Option?
Direct air capture is 850 times more efficient than planting trees, says Tom DeLay. Bill Gates has invested in direct air capture and said it's the hardest method he thinks to prove financially in his portfolio. The Carbon Trust are selling about $1,000 per tonne of CO2 for this technology. But they need governments to step in to buy down the cost like Germany did with wind and solar. And I also think that we need to make this a compliance market, so a non-voluntary market.
