The Debt Diplomacy of the BRI

Some people say some of the projects that are being developed have the desired outcome by China to create indebtedness. What would you say to those arguments? Well, and how is that different to the ways in which the colonial powers of the transatlantic have engaged with developing countries over the last 300 years? If you want a good case study of exploitative economic relationships, then the 300 years or 400 years of colonialism is probably a good place to start.
