Ep 192 - A Couple Of Galahs
Chat 10 Looks 3
Tim Harford Podcast
I've been listening to a new series of cautionary tales that I love from Tim Harford. He talks about how safety mechanisms can sometimes encourage you to behave less safely because you have the assurance of safety mechanism. That fits with what we're talking about too, about the changing public discussion around COVID. So say the toilet roll panic buying was a perception of not being safe that was driving that behavior. And now with people being vaccinated, that's a perception that they are safer, which may or may not be true. It's true on generalised statistics, but as an individual, you still may get a bad dose of COVID.
