The Federation's 10th Anniversary Celebration
The 1956 executive council meeting that was held in Beijing is symbolic. It's hugely significant in terms of how the Federation itself will then evolve, because it sets in motion some really big shifts within the organization. And once, ironically enough, that in the longer term would become an issue for China, come the breakdown of the Sino-Soviet alliance. But again, you know, Chinese scientists in particular are involved from the get-go, whereas at least formally the Soviets aren't.
