The Death of Elizabeth Masters
The tale originally appeared in the Journal of American Folklore back in 1894. Although its origins aren't very clear, it began with a mill owned by a man known only as Mr. H. The workers didn't suffer long though, and each one tried to say something to his fellow men before he passed on. It was like they were trying to let others know what was killing them. As they died one by one, the facility grew increasingly emptier. Nobody wanted to go near the mill for fear of what might be waiting there for them to strike next.
