What Happened to the Hindenburg? (Air Disaster)
Jimmy Akin's Mysterious World

How Does a Hot Air Balloon Work?
In 17 66, a scientist named henry cavendish discovered element number one, or hydrogen. Hydrogen is much lighter than air and so people started experimenting with filling balloons with hydrogen. The first hydrogen balloon flights took place in 17 83, the same year as the first documented hot air loon flight. In any event, if you fill a balloon with hydrogen here on earth, it can catch fire (and explode) So be careful! We talked about hydroccylic acid in episode 91 where we discussed how the government is putting hydroylic acid into our water supply without telling us that they're doing it.
