The Importance of Imaging
As a consultant physio based in the UK, one of my scopes of practice is imaging. I would always be ordering imaging if there was any substantial atrophy. MRI looking for any evidence of any nerve compression or fat infiltration and throat at a cuff. Up to 96% of asymptomatic people actually have imaging structural changes on ultrasound scanning. And using that in your clinical reasoning process is difficult.
