The Tension Between Peel and Disraeli
Peel essentially says this far and no further. That's the founding of what we now know as a Conservative Party. The opposition is led by Disraeli, who's now seen as the founder of One Nation Conservatives. But Disraeli was an ultra at the time or something approaching an ultra. He was a romantic reactionary kind of Tory. And that gets us back to his tension, I think, between Toryism and Conservatives.
