In America, sometimes I think part of our problem is that we're not thinking about the future. We may be in a situation where it's similar analogous to France and England after World War II. The US is being displaced, not by communist China or anything, but just by a multi-polar world where there's more opportunity. A lot of millennials and zoomers, particularly in America and North America and Europe, feel this like they're living through the end of the world. It would be helpful if libertarians started talking about empathy and autonomy.

Nick Gillespie is the host of the Reason Interview and an editor at large at Reason. Nick is one of the most interesting libertarian thinkers in America, and has been described by the New York Times as being to libertarianism “what Lou Reed is to rock ‘n’ roll, the quintessence of its outlaw spirit".
