The Origins of Constantine
Constantine is said to have been descended from Claudius Gothicus. Historian says it's plausible there might have been some kind of relationship but the way in which it sort of springs out of nowhere in 310 makes it seem like a very unlikely connection. He adds that Constantine made his name by working his way at the ranks of the army.
