The good incentives are, you want to reduce human air and make it safer. The bad incentives may be that we need less pilots or sell more planes because now we're automating more of what they do. I think we're at a point where we still need pilots. And the trouble is, we need them know how to fly a plane,. We don't yet have the perfect mix. It's slightly frightening.

Laurence Gonzales started his career as a journalist and earned a Distinguished Service Award from the Society of Professional Journalists. He then went on to become an editor for multiple magazines, including Playboy back in the day. And he won two national awards from the American Society of Magazine Editors for his work on National Geographic's Adventure magazine.

He's the bestselling author of multiple award winning books. He was awarded the Montaigne Medal from the Eric Hoffer Society in 2018, and won the prestigious Eric Hoffer Award in both 2018 and 2019. He has also been a Miller scholar at the illustrious Santa Fe Institute.
