Transvaginal Ultrasound for Endometrial Cancer in Women With Postmanopausal Bleeding
Transvaginal ultrasound has excellent negative predictive value for endometrial cancer in women with postmanopausal bleeding. Endometrial sampling is not required because of the low risk of uterine malignancy on this case. Total hysterectomy can provide definitive assessment of a possible concurrent carcinoma and effectively treats all pre-malignant lesions.
