The Importance of the Dollar in the Debt Ceiling
In the United States, 10% of people own more than 90% of assets. This is welfare for the rich. And meanwhile, the government is cutting the actually existing welfare for the poor. The U.S. doesn't have to produce anything of value in order to pay off its debt; it can simply print the dollar. That's why America has maintained a massive current account deficit for decades.
